Lamb

I never thought this subject would be so difficult. In hopes to get the ball rolling, I am posting a picture i took a couple months ago. So far, I haven't had time to take a new one.

Waterball

Hogal Zoo goers will recognize this! I really like this picture, I was excited when the idea came to me. But, while it was a slow day at the zoo I was unable, in the multipul shots I snapped, to get one without anyone esle in the background. So in hopes to draw the eye away from the other zoo patrons in the back, I did a little editing with soft features.

Learning Opportunity

I came across a post about this website today that I thought might be of interest to some of you. Here is a link to the website.

Sounds like a great chance to learn from some very talented individuals.

Library

Ah the sun finally came out today. I have always wanted to take pictures at the Salt Lake Library, and today was the perfect chance. Here are few reflection shots from this afternoon.

This weekend my son and I went to the bird refuge to take pics. Here are a couple of reflections.

These pics were taken last fall on Antelope Island. I know they aren't current, dang spring weather hasn't been cooperating so far.

We have a couple of new people joining us. Ashley Bleak has just moved to Lincoln Co. and is Marie Bleaks sister-in-law. Her user name reads The Bleaks. (Not to be confused with Marie). Also, My sister Jamie is joining us from St. George. So welcome to you both.

Just a reminder that this blog is meant for us to GO OUT and shoot. So though posting stuff we have done in the past is once in a while ok, I'd rather postings be something new. Keep up the good work, I am glad we have so many participating!

Our family went to Hurricane yesterday and I came upon this orchard. There were hundreds of brownish black pecan trees and one little pink tree right in the middle. I didn't quite get the shot I wanted because we couldn't find anyone to ask for permission to be in the orchard so I was a little worried about getting shot. The reason for the lower pict is because I LOVE rows of things!

Spring... :-(

I don't know if I should put this under "Spring" or "Humor"? Snow!

Spring?

Photoshop CS5

Has anybody had the chance to view the demo of the "Content Aware Fill" feature coming in Photoshop CS5? Absolutely amazing! Nearly a point & click operation to remove and/or fill portions of the image. I am very curious if they might also have an easy-to-use image stacking feature for those of us who dabble in macro. April 12th is the official announcement, but unfortunately probably not the availability date.

Don't forget these little Spring workers. Ever see one stop for a rest?

spring has sprung

Purple spring

This is the only sign of spring in my yard. I'm sure Barb knows what they are called. I never planted these cuties but I'm sure glad they wandered over to my yard. I've always loved them.

Scourge of Spring!

Why are these guys so prolific, and what one wants to grow such a struggle?

My first flowers

Panaca sign of Spring

This is the only sign of Spring I could find in Panaca! As we know the passing through of migrating Turkey Vultures (or Turkey Buzzard, i.e. Cathartes aura) signifies warm weather is soon to arrive.

A tech note, this photo was razor sharp in the original (JPEG & RAW) images, but working with the JPEG it lost some resolution, and all I did was crop it down a bit and bring up the brightness a tad. Made a believer out of me, any modification to a JPEG image, and subsequent save, will degrade the quality.

Fire station?

Adam, nothing to do with photography. However, I remember some of your first posts were to do with firefighters. Do you have a connection? The reason for asking is we have guests from Russia visiting in July, the husband is a retired fireman, and would love a tour of an American fire station. Jim jemanner@gmail.com
