Yes, I know, this pair don't exactly qualify as a baby animals, but happened to see these today while taking our daughter west of Alamo hunting for fossils. Just a quick grab shot at the telephoto limits of a point & shoot we had along, and a bit of cropping with PS.

Great shot! Difficult to find these beasties too.
ReplyDeleteThey are kind of babies in the respect that their horns haven't matured yet.... :-)
ReplyDeleteOr they may be females (who have smaller horns). Kind of hard to look under their legs to be sure... ;) Great shot, Jim - wish I had seen them! Did you find some good fossils??
ReplyDeleteNo Trilobites found, but many other fossils. Worms, lots of plant life, etc. It is mind-boggling to realize all was under the ocean many millions of years ago. Humankind, at least myself, has great difficulty envisioning the time spans involved.
ReplyDeleteI love fossils, of any kind! We brought back some "horn corals" from Iowa one year, that Merlin's mom had in her yard from a nearby outcrop of limestone.
