Insect & Flower (two for one)

I actually bought a pot of flowers just to take some pictures of them. What I won't do for a picture. And double bonus, I now have some flowers on my front porch.
And then a nasty bee stayed around long enough for me to get a couple of pictures of it too. I was too close for comfort to get this shot.

Just in time...

I Took a couple of minutes out of our family reunion today to take a couple of pictures. (Thanks to Stephanie for letting me use her macro rings to play around with!) I just loved taking these pictures from a bug's point of view. I loved the background of the blue sky to offset the white petals.

Disneyland's Flowers!!

These flowers were so weird; they looked like artichokes...maybe they were?

Petal Pic's

One last bug shot-but combined with a flower--I didn't have time to get it downloaded last week.

A friend shared this with me today, after I commented on his photo of the flower from his tomato plant:
"Make the Ordinary Come Alive

Do not ask your children
to strive for extraordinary lives,
Such striving may seem admirable,
but it is the way of foolishness.
Help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.
Show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.
Show them how to cry
when pets and people die.
Show them the infinite pleasure
in the touch of a hand.
And make the ordinary come alive for them.
The extraordinary will take care of itself."

Condor Canyon Wildflowers

It was a pain fighting the wind, but managed to capture a few wildflowers this morning. I was amazed at the variety of insects on them. It is probably a complimentary existence, they need each other. Nature is absolutely mind boggling!

Interesting......

I got lucky--Grant saw this when we were out after firewood and the one below one of my boys found on the road--otherwise I don't really go hunting creepy crawlies.  Though they definitely are interesting up close and personal.
