2:1 but Who's right?
Is it cheating to use a photo I took for a similar assignment on another web site?  Well, I hope not, because it's been a few days since I contributed, so...

Converging or Merging Lines

Two for Memorial Day.  The first is the Veterans of the World Wars representative placing a wreath.

This is the keynote speaker, a disabled veteran, giving his remarks.

God bless those who gave their all, and the loved ones who live without them.

Mandatory Memorial Day BBQ

Trying to grill healthy: turkey burgers, corn, green peppers, and onions (and cheese hotdogs for the grandkids).
These just bloomed right along the path to the street.

And now, from the department of things you don't see every day department, I give you whatever this instrument is, being played by one of the fine members of the Red Elvises:

And here's the whole scene, with the smoke-enhanced sunset behind the Jemez.

The human eye is really good at adapting to changing light levels.  As we were standing around watching the eclipse and asking ourselves if it was really getting darker or not, I decided to take a series of shots in full manual mode at the same settings, so I could see how much the light level was changing.  Here are the results, and the times each shot was taken.

And here's one about halfway toward totality (19:17, if you're curious), showing how things looked to the uncalibrated eye:

Finally, just for grins, here's a sunset picture.

Okay, here are what I currently think are the best of my eclipse photos. Using a welder's mask lens gave everything a strong green tint, which was hard/impossible to completely eliminate, so I got a bit creative with the color in some of these.

I love the refraction pattern around the sun in this one.

If you look closely, you can see a tiny bit of the left tip of the sun just above the horizon in this shot.

There will probably be more tomorrow, so hope you like these!

Random, gratuitous landscape shot:

Chances are, this won't be the last random, gratuitous landscape shot.  You've been warned.

Suggestions for improvement always welcome, in case I've never said that before!
