Lincoln County Rock Art

Hi all, this is Heather Young :)  I have been invited to participate in your blog and am excited that my first assignment is rock art.  Native American history is a passion of mine (probably because I am of Algonquin heritage lol)  I have gone to so many sites here in Lincoln County.  A lot of them are not in the public rock art records, so those are the one I would like to share with you.  Each of these sites have numerous petroglyphs and pictographs.  I have included some of my favorites.  Sorry these are not artistic, as I was just recording them at the time :0

These are in Rainbow Canyon.  It is kind of a pain (and stinky) to get to:

You can see in this picture that this one has been vandalized since being recorded in the 1960s.

Another Rainbow Canyon Site.  This one has over 160 red and yellow pictographs, some of which are buried under layers of sand and you can see the tops of them:

These are from Pine Dam.  There are so many here:

One more site - Barnes Canyon Site I:

Kilns

I haven't photographed our local kilns for about 10 years.  I have been watching the sky for some nice clouds and today I got them.

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to me for the next 20 years....

I'm struggling taking pics of V's guitars. I think backgrounds play a bigger part in the overall look than I expected. Anyway, here are a few efforts. Please feel free to critique and make suggestions. The first two are of a custom Strat. The third is an Ibanez jazz guitar. The last is a Les Paul with a strap made in New Mexico.

Eyelashes

Eyelashes was my goal for last week...No one tell Ginger she's on here. LOL. Two things I would have done differently: Gingers sweater would have taken up the rest of the right bottom corner and Alexa would have been in a black shirt so that her face had better definition.
