Lincoln County Rock Art

Hi all, this is Heather Young :)  I have been invited to participate in your blog and am excited that my first assignment is rock art.  Native American history is a passion of mine (probably because I am of Algonquin heritage lol)  I have gone to so many sites here in Lincoln County.  A lot of them are not in the public rock art records, so those are the one I would like to share with you.  Each of these sites have numerous petroglyphs and pictographs.  I have included some of my favorites.  Sorry these are not artistic, as I was just recording them at the time :0 

These are in Rainbow Canyon.  It is kind of a pain (and stinky) to get to:

You can see in this picture that this one has been vandalized since being recorded in the 1960s.
 

 
Another Rainbow Canyon Site.  This one has over 160 red and yellow pictographs, some of which are buried under layers of sand and you can see the tops of them:
