This, I am told, is "tatting." An annual Christmas present in different variants to Anna Rae from a very dear friend in Alamo, Ellen Spencer.

Tatting is becoming a "lost art," I don't know of anyone under the age of 75 who is still doing it. And Ellen Spencer is a MASTER of the art - I am thinking she is the one that won a Grand Champion in the County Fair back in '02 or '03 for an "umbrella" that she had done!
