You don’t take a photograph, you make it. –Ansel Adams

Ah, the rule of thirds.  The first guildeline I became aware of when I started to take this photographee thing a bit more seriously.

Yes, there was a car show in town today.

Heck, let's include a couple just for the fun of it, rule of thirds or not.

An odd perspective on a 'Vette

One more car off the (very top of) the bucket list.

  1. The 50s and 60s cars are so photogenic! I really like how you've captured their uniqueness with names and colors. The bottom pic of the Vette looks a bit fish-eyed. Neat perspective.

And just to make you jealous, in 1970 my father and I decided to buy a '57 T-Bird for $1600, but he backed out at the last minute stating it was too small. That left me with my $600, so I bought a Triumph TR3. I've been corrupted by all vehicles British since.

  2. Yep. I'm jealous. Either of those are great cars. But you know what a Ford guy I am, so I like the T-Bird even better.

The 'Vette shot is with my widest angle lens. It's not a fisheye, but anything that wide has _some_ distortion.

  3. Oh, excellent choices! At least you had good subject matter to begin with... I was a bit of a car-buff in my teens, put together models and learned to recognize the various makes and years... yeah, NOT a typical girl...

  4. Got to admit HD, you do look stylin' in a vintage Bird.

  5. Dream. Come. True.

On another topic, I'm very pleased with how the starburst effect in the sixth shot turned out. Small aperature apparently does work for that!

  6. I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it. Yes, it really makes that a COOL shot! We have a '76 T'bird out back, awaiting restoration... it's only been sitting there 15 years... maybe someday someone will drool over it as you do with your 'bird!
