This is far from tiny, but found this interesing rock in a remote canyon today, actually a side canyon to Condor. Does anyone possibly know the story behind this?
We did not stop to take a close look. It is in the wash/canyon that branches off to the left (west) immediately after one crosses the creek for the first time (headed north from Panaca) and the old millsite is. On your left (south side) of the wash.
I must have walked right past that on our April Fools Day hike last year... we came down that canyon, into Condor Canyon! One of these times, I'll go looking for it!
Went back this afternoon to take a second look. Darned if I did not go right past it! MUCH larger than I remember from a couple of weeks ago. Also, now I am convinced it is not the work of man.
It does look manmade, doesn't it?! Wish I knew if it had a story - which side canyon did you find it in??
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific rock monster! Were there any tool marks?
