Oh, yes, there are several hundred species of dragonflies - I had bought a "field guide to the common dragonflies of California" a few years ago... my fave is the last one, the blue one - you caught the light just right, coming through its wings, and the lighting on its body makes it stand out from the rock!
Evolution must have a reason for the extraordinary design of a dragonfly, but it escapes me. Possibly their posterior is radioactive and needs to be far away from the brain? JUST KIDDING!
