I originally submitteed this in color, but felt B&W would have the proper impact. Agreed? Surely some, or all, of you recognize this window. Not too distant, and just a quick side trip on the road to Utah.

LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteIs that in Modena?
ReplyDeleteYes, Modena. Wasn't too motivated to submit the photo until I realized one could include the "hotel" lettering. This told me that the room has been occupied by many people over the life of the building, especially during the days of steam railroading.
ReplyDeleteClassic picture. The faded hotel lettering alludes to the stories this building could tell. Great job.
ReplyDeleteCan't say that I've actually gotten off the hightway to check Modena out...might have to do that some time. This is really cool, Jim. It wreaks of interesting characters and many riveting stories.

ReplyDeleteYes, you HAVE to drive through Modena! A virtual ghost town, but preserved by the few residents. A few years back, read an article about how someone was renovating the home across the tracks to the right. Occupied, so did not venture too close. The cemetery is worth a visit also, on the dirt road going north, not far.
ReplyDeleteYep, Modena - I knew it when I saw it! B & W definitely has more impact than color, with this weathered old building.
