Signs of better times

Mines come, and mines go. Taken in 1970, hope that is acceptable. As the group may guess, much of my photography is more documentary in regard to the past. South of the highway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

  1. I love it! It's great to see the mine in the background and the truck is very cool. The writing is so clear! Nice composition. (Am I understanding right that you took this photo in 1970?)

  2. Yes, 1970, immediately before moving to Lincoln County. We relocated to Alamo, and the friend I bummed aroung the desert with quit his job and joined the Moonies (Unification Church)...another story.

  3. Oh, yes, the stamp mill in the background really "makes" that shot! YOU were a Moonie? Or just your friend! Anyway, I wonder if that truck is even still around...

  4. This is really neat...definitely could've come from a history book or nonfiction book about mining.
