Yester year

I wasn't terribly happy with this pict. There are several things that bother me. Especally the CROTCH shot. Who does that? Guess that is one of the mistakes we can make without being behind the camera. LOL. Oh well. No time to re due it.

  1. Funny, because my eyes weren't drawn to your crotch. Could be because I'm female, though. But I digress, my eyes were drawn to the soft, peaceful look on your face. This is beautiful, Steff.

  2. And my eye was drawn to the clean line of your leg.

  3. A couple of other things I don't like about this photo is the rubber band on my wrist. and the shadow on the right side. I could have pulled away from the wall or used my flash on the bracket or gone closer to the window. I think noticing these things and becoming aware of them will help us all be better photographers.

  4. Later in the shoot, I pulled my hair back (eliminating the band on wrist), turned to the side (no crotch shot)But during shoot didn't notice shadow. grrr.

  5. If you hadn't drawn our attention to these things, some of us wouldn't have noticed them, Steff! I liked the original composition of the shot; white undies might have eliminated the "crotch" aspect, as it wouldn't be noticeable. Shadows simply add some depth to the shot.

  6. Steff I looked at the later shot as well, and I keep coming back to this one. This picture has a very graceful yet intimate feel to it. I agree with Barb that the shadows give it a nice depth. Great work as usual.

  7. And just for the record...Those are not my underwear! LOL. Barb, I think it is important to pick out the mistakes, even show them in this setting so that we can learn. One might not notice the mistakes consciously but our brain "sees" them anyway. I took a pict a few years ago and showed it to my bro-in-law who is big into photography. He asked me if there was a reason for such and such. I hadn't even noticed but ever since decided that those little detail total up to distractions. Good practice for cleaning things up before it is recorded. Thanks for the feedback everybody.
